Who Knew?

I admit it. I "borrowed" this idea for a post from Steve over at SLNL blog. I have changed it up a bit though. I thought I would go back through my posts of 2008 and see which one garnered the most comments, month by month. The results are kind of surprising. So c'mon along as we go back down memory lane for a bit.

January 8 - The Special Announcement

This one did not really surprise me. It was the announcement for the First Annual Blogger Meeting, hosted by me here on Isla Mujeres. We still don't know for sure where the Second Annual one will be hosted but I'm guessing Merida.

February 7 - These Didn't Make The Cut

A bunch of pictures from my 2007 car trip through Mexico that didn't make the cut for my travel blog. I was surprised by all the interest and comments on this one.

March 17 - Featuring...Hotel Carmelina

An in-depth report on the Hotel where the out of town bloggers would be staying.

April 29 - The Organizer's Perspective

This was my personal take on putting the Blogger Meeting together and some behind the scenes information.

May 20 - Seen On Isla - An Updated Picture

I posted a picture of the fountain downtown, showing how well it isn't cared for.

June 23 - Calming Our Nerves

People were starting to act hysterically about the conditions of our beaches so I took a stroll down North Beach. This was meant to be a cheery little post showing some of the nice sights along the beach.

July 21 - I Don't Want To Hear Any Hippy Jokes

This one dealt with my hip injury and first ever visit to a doctor here on the island. I think I got a few sympathy comments but most of them dealt with the fact that I revealed that the x-ray of my hip also showed my penis! I said the whole penis in the blog but after looking at the x-ray again, a certain important part of it was missing!

August 7 - Ready, Aim, Fire!

This has got to be my all time favorite post! I had such a good time writing it. It is a tag post to the hip injury one above and deals with the trials and tribulations of having to give a poop sample.

September 12 - Culture Shock and Observations

This was written after my three week visit back to the USA. I outlined my observations and feeling of culture shock after a two year absence.

October 10 - Warm Hearts Project

The announcement and formation of my charity. When I conceived of this, I had no idea that the response would be so overwhelming or cause me so many tears of happiness. Thank you all over and over again!

November 21 - Not Another One

This should have never been the most popular post of November. It is a one liner simply stating that it was my birthday. The well wishes and offers of sympathy put it at the top of the list.

December 23 - Somebody Help Me!

I was almost speechless at the reactions to this one. It was a post about the atrocious flip-flops that two of my dear friends purchased and wore down here just to aggravate me. And you all jumped right in to aggravate me more by saying how much you liked them. To each his own.

There you have it. Or had it. The most popular posts of 2008. I wonder what 2009 will bring? I'm thinking quite a few surprises lie ahead.
