As many of you may notice, I deleted the past two days entries. The reasons are numerous and my own. I was downtown this afternoon and a total stranger came up to me and starting asking me questions about the problems the "damn Mexicans" are causing me! I was appalled and certainly do not want people to get the wrong impression of me or what I believe based on those two posts. Plus, it got me to thinking that it could be interpreted in many different ways.
I do not want my blog to become a bitching post about life on the island. I moved here believing it to be as close to paradise as I am ever going to get in my life. And I still believe that....despite life's daily little set backs.
Thanks to everybody who commented on the entries. I appreciate your feedback more than you know. Especially Rivergirl's. She really gave me some good info.
So tomorrow it is back to the tongue in cheek humor and pretty pictures that this blog is famous for!

I'm so sorry about the drama, but here's a really weird thing - I had to delete a post I made about the FM3 process as it somehow got infected iwth a virus (yes, just the post!) and I couldn't get rid of it. Too weird.
When I was doing hurricane relief in Majahual after Dean, I posted a number of blogs tracking the effort...and deleted several that expressed my frustration with the bureaucracy/government issues I witnessed. Safer all around, especially for the foreigner.
I don't blame you one bit.

One thing I've enjoyed about your blog is your honesty on the real life of things living on Isla. Message boards tend to only list"good things" and slam those that try and give their views. However I also understand if someone came up to me on the street and made a comment I'd probably done the same I was interested to know the driveway issue and why it was a problem. Upon finding your blog a few months ago I went back and read it all. I learned more about life on Isla for real. I am not a person that hangs out on beaches and drink/party all day. I enjoy the sites/sounds/air/relaxation. Usually only going downtown in evenings for great food. I hope your kitty is ok. Someone from the states could bring you flea pills if you post on message board of need.
