As mentioned, we finished the redecorating project in the cabana this past weekend. Between repainting, waxing the cement countertops, reupholstering furniture and shopping for lamps (!!!!), it has taken a bit of time. It is what we call an open floor plan. All the living goes on in one room with a separate bathroom and closet space. When we first decorated, we were into our "colors of Mexico" phase. What we were after now was a more subdued, welcoming look. So, for your enjoyment, here are the results:

The kitchen/dining room area. The changes are subtle here. Repainted shelves, chairs are in a different fabric and we moved the refrigerator.

I don't have a before picture of the sleeping area. We had ugly tables that I painted next to the bed and cheap ugly lamps. The bedspread used to be a mix of oranges and browns. Oh, I made the headboard, or at least designed it from those mask things. This is what it looks like now:
Finally the closet which is in stolen space under the outside staircase. If you poke your head in, you will see a clothes rod and a floor mounted safe in there. We used to have a dresser in there but people said they would prefer open shelving. Ask and you shall receive!
So what do you think? Did we achieve our goal? Would you stay here??

Good work
I think it looks very nice, and the bedroom looks very romantic. I would like to see a close-up of the mask things over the bed.
I like open shelves too. Easier to watch for hidden bugs.
I think your place is very welcoming. What does the outdoor space look like?

Dude you had me from the bottom photos up - but I really liked the before fabric on bamboo furniture and the curtains in the sala - what can I say ;-) All in all bueno job amigo.
