Casting A Shadow

I can hardly believe how fast the Curpis Palm that we planted 2 (3?) years ago in the back patio has grown. I love the early morning shadow it casts on my back garden wall.

You could trace that and then paint it on your wall, that would be a fun project. Maybe. Nah, too much work, just enjoy the shadow while it lasts.

It's gorgeous! I love those palms because they're so perfect, they almost look fake. Has yours gotten the red berries yet? Wish they did well in Arizona, but I'm guessing it's way too dry.

VERY COOL SHOT AMIGO!

Sue: I've often thought of doing just that. Except that shadow changes all day and what a mess it would be on the wall with all those different shadows overlapping.

LAB: every other day I have to let the hose trickle water it for at least 2 hours. You could probably do the same in Az. Kelly or Bob would know for sure.

Jamqueen and Calypso: Thanks!

Yes, that is a really great photo. It's almost sepia for part and color on the rest. I love it! Maybe you should have it printed large on canvas or tela and frame it.

Put me down as a "kewl" raver. Great shot! I have tried similar shadow shots at night with artificial light, but my camera cannot pick up the subtle shades.

definitely a cool shadow. speaking of years, i've been reading your blog for well over 2 years now and you have not change where it says that you left the ratrace 6 years ago. so how long has it been? just curious!

great job on securing the copper pipes.

jonna: i don't think it is that great of a picture that I would want it on my wall. but thanks for the compliment

steve: this picture was taken about 7AM. I haven't tried doing shadow pictures at night. You have given me an idea though!

teresa: oh contrare! I change that header every September, the anniversary of my moving here. So, as of May 18, I have been here 6 years and 8 months. I rarely change the picture though so you probably didn't notice the subtle number change.
