This ill-conceived sky ride out by Garrafon Park has not functioned for centuries.
But it does make for a nice landmark and something to contrast against the brilliantly blue sky.

WE LEFT THE RAT RACE EIGHT YEARS AGO AND RETIRED TO THIS LITTLE ISLAND IN THE CARIBBEAN. THIS IS MY ACCOUNT OF THE TRIALS, TRIBULATIONS, AND LITTLE JOYS OF LIVING IN MEXICO.

Very impressive!
functioning or not - not a place I want to be...waaaay up there.
From what I have always heard there was never enough electricity to run the stupid thing.
And you have to love the bright colors.
When it rust to the point of crumbling which way do you think it will fall?
Hope the bottom of the thing doesn't rust, causing it to topple over and take out Unik! LOL
Are you expecting a surpise visit from the Freud Society?
I know it went up at least once. Mary Grace's ex-hubby was one of the guinea pigs.
Sure wish I had gone up the short time it was running. Certainly would have provided some incredible photo opportunities :)
lisa: yes, but up close it is a rusty pipe.
calypso: if Steve can go ziplining, you can go up high. Just don't break anything!
jackie: but it did run for awhile. I think it stopped because of the rust problem.
tulum livin: amen to that
anonymous: hopefully towards the road and not the neighboring houses. But you are right. One day it will fall.
LAB: I give up. What is Unik?
Steve: they wouldn't know what to do with me!
lagovistajenn: lucky him! a pioneer!
AZ: I agree. Wouldn't that have been great! I'm not sure I would have gone up in though. Don't trust a lot of the engineering around here.
