On The Plaza Del Pueblo

I noticed a new sign the other day. It was directing people to Plaza del Pueblo. (plaza of the town) I wonder if they are renaming the zocolo/town square?

At any rate, somebody asked about the Nativity scene downtown. Here it is. Of course, the baby Jesus has not yet been born so they are just staring at empty space right now.

Without looking it up, can anybody tell me the three animals ridden by the Wise Men?

Didn't think the Bible mentions any animals in regard to the wise men, but just be sure I looked it up.

I always thought it was 3 camels too. I have had more and more Mexicans tell me lately that they rode a camel, an elephant and a giraffe! I wonder if that is what they are taught here in Sunday School? Anyway, the 3 wise men are just a myth. Created to add drama to the story but not mentioned in the Bible at all.

Matthew 2, verse 7: Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared. v.8: He sent them to Bethlehem and said, "Go and make a careful search for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him."

Verse 11: On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh.

All so easy now to find online. Did you know there are some quite exquisite erotic passages in Ecclesiastes, and a lover's perfect description of insane jealousy? Hope this doesn't offend any "wise guys," but I believe it takes a lot of Bible study, prayer, and a childlike faith to believe all that is recorded in the "Living Word," which continues to be reinforced by what archaologist's and historians are still sifting through (in and near Italy).

To correct my huge mistake (good lesson in why you should always question everything), the erotic Bible literature is in Song of Solomon, not Ecclesiastes (a depressing book on all the reasons why life is meaningless).

That was me asking. Thanks for the photo. BAby Jesus will have be born by the time I see the Navity scene. I was hoping that with the flocked looking trees they didn't do away with something as traditional as the Nativity scene.
