If you were a fan of the restaurant Seso Loco's, you may have been wondering where he's gone. Although not yet open and remodeling is still underway, I thought I would give you a quick sneak peek of his new place.
He's located on the bay side of the island as you head south out of town. To help orientate you, what you see in the picture below is the street just before you get to the turn off for the Yacht Club. That two story building is the Honda sales shop. Seso will be located on the right where all of those trees are.
Here's a quick shot of the front. Looks like he is going to have some nice outdoor, covered seating.
Once he opens up for business, I'll be doing a complete article about his new place.

Seso is a great guy and we traditionally have our first meal at his place our first night back on the island. The Parmesan Fish is to die for! I wish him much success in his new location and am looking forward to him reopening. The patio looks great! Thanks for the update :)
We've been watching the progress as we are on that corner every day (lottery tickets) and we sometimes buy hamburgers/fries from the family next door (the best!). I wonder about his choice of location though - it's stinky there and I can't imagine what he'll be able to do to cover up the smell from the lagoon. Maybe tons of scented candles?
I've always liked Seso Loco! We'll look for him on our next trip!
Sue's comment inspires me to make one of my own: I understand that the Caribbean road was built for all kinds of purported conveniences at the time, thus creating the cesspool called "The Lagoon".
Is there any value of being a really squeaky wheel and advocating reopening the blockage between the Carib and the lagoon, stickin' a bridge in there, and CLEAN OUT THAT SLUDGE..... !!!!
About a month or so of recirculation, and, oh, what a nice piece of water you'd have.
O Robert
(Bridges are cheap)
(I know you can be vocal.....)
Thanks for the update, Wayne. It's always been a favorite spot of ours & will make a point ofheading out there on our next trip--only 6 months to go!
I ran into Seso downtown this weekend. He says the remodeling has slowed way down because he has run out of money. Expects to open eventually.
O Robert: I for one would never want to see that reopened to the ocean. Bridge or not, when the surge comes with the hurricanes or big storms, the entire center of the island would be flooded beyond belief. I have seen them occassionally pump water in and out from the ocean. Part of the problem is that the City just did an inspection of that area and found 4 homes still dumping raw sewage directly into it.
Thanks for the update. I saw no evidence of the new location in April – May. Great pizza and other dishes but really horrible drinks and to boot they are 2x1. Maybe you can mention the toxic drinks to Seso.
You seem to have a ton of messsages so I don't know if this will get through. Please feel free to email me. I started to us this service and then stopped so I'm not sure if you can email me or if something will pop up for me if you respond.
Anyhow, love to see all your picts and read your blogs.
I am a photographer and have been through some major changes in the past few years so now I'm ready to move forward and I would love to make a move to Isla Mujeras and make a living off wedding photography. Do you have any helpful information to point me to? I have two labs I plan to take with me as well.
If you are able and willing, please email sharlira@Hotmail.com and put MEXICO in the title. Would love to chat!
