Somebody Loves Me!

I truly am blessed with some kick ass friends.

I don't even remember how long I have known Diane from Minnesota. We met on Isla as vacationers many years ago. She has a heart of gold plus she thinks I'm cute. What's not to like about her!

This year she brought me down a few surprises. Just her being here is treat enough but she put the frosting on the cake this year.

Look what she brought me!

Just about my favorite snack in the whole world! And unobtainable here. These will be saved and hoarded for a very special occasion. Or maybe I will make a big batch of chili so I have an excuse to open them up!

But it goes on. Look at all the yarn she brought me!

1500 pieces to be exact!

She also brought a big Ziplock bag full of Hershey and Dove chocolates. That bag didn't last long, let me tell you!

I am just so lucky.

You could frame that closeup of the yarn - so colorful!

How nice to have friends like Diane. I have a couple like that too, always thinking of me and just bringing me stuff even if I didn't ask for it. Great people!

You are a lucky guy! That yarn is beautiful .. how many hats will that make? I'm up to 18 hats now! Enjoy the scoops. If my suitcase has space in Oct. I'll bring you a bag.

How funny! Someone just brought two bags of Fritos to me yesterday. And I'm like you, I hoard them, I hate to admit!

Except he also brought three more bags and I couldn't eat that many in a year.......As fate would have it some friends called to invite me to a party Saturday night and I told them I was bringing 3 bags of Fritos. I wish you could have heard the howls of glee........
Isn't it funny the things we crave when we don't have ready access?

Mmmmmmmmmm. You can have frito chili pie. That was my favorite order at Sonic back in the day! Great friend! The yarn and puzzle look the exact same! My husband used to sell those puzzles (Springbok) when he worked for Hallmark.

Love the yarn puzzle photo! It's funny, but I fill a backpack with the lime fritos to bring home from Isla! Next time I'll remeber to fill it with regular ones to bring down!

Mmmm... Dove chocolates. There's always some in my luggage whenever I return from the States.

GOD, I love Fritos. They can sometimes be found here in Playa, but they cost like 60 pesos. So worth it. I recently bought Spicy Chex Mix for 65 pesos.

That puzzle should keep you busy for a while, and such yummy colors! Good on Diane for bringing good chocolate, so hard to find in Mexico!

Ooohhhh, it's a PUZZLE; and not a box of assorted yarn like I first thought(!)...cool.

Mr. Gringo,
How goes it? My husband and I have been to Isla 4 times. I'd like very much to go again. He's not keen on it due to the financial nuttiness that's going down right now. I keep looking for cheap airfare. It still isn't to his liking... ;0(. I'm still trying. Isla has my heart for certain.

Peace be to you,

Susan

ok. this is the first time I have replied to the blog. Diane will be sooo happy that you are so happy! She called last night and she went to Rio Lagartos as well as Holbox and Valladolid. What a trip, her knees are sunburned from the bike. I`m sure you`ll see her soon and she can tell you about it. Miss you

Cindy

Your blog was forwarded to me by a friend living in Jocotepec. I visited her last November and she requested I bring Fritos so I brought as many as I could fit in my suitcase. I had no idea how precious they are!
