Project Warm Hearts 2009 is constantly on my mind. I work on some project for it every day. But it looks like I'm not the only one who has had it on their mind.
Meet some of the ladies from Tanglewood Manor in western New York.
These wonderful ladies heard about our charity and it touched their warm hearts. So they grabbed their knitting needles and set to work producing hats, mittens and scarves. When I heard about these ladies and how they were helping, from so far away, I was touched beyond belief.
So my thanks go out to these wonderful women and to Cheryl Krull, the CEO of Tanglewood Manor who spearheaded this campaign and brought the articles personally down to me.
Doesn't it just wanna make you cry or something!

They are beautiful, and doing a beautiful thing!
Look at those sweet old gals!

Little mature ladies from United Sates knitting for people in Ursulo Galavan - very cool!

They are so cute! And making mittens! WOW .. My hubby will be in Cancun the week of March 23, so he is bringing my first batch down. He will leave them at a friends place for now.
It's wonderful and does give me a catch in my throat. Good grief, just imagine how much talent and energy there is in the "senior" citizens' community in the USA. It needs to be channeled to straigten out the mess up there - THEY could do it too........

We are all citizens of the world first. Bless them.
Oh wow, that really did bring a tear to my eye, how lovely!
Thanks for the wonderful comments everybody. These will be shared with the ladies when Cheryl returns. What I didn't tell you, and makes it even more wonderful, is that some of these ladies have Cerebral Palsy and still were able to work through that for the good of the kids. How wonderful is that!
Great post! I've been wanting to ask you how to get items to you? I too knit!! Would love to help out in some way.
My goodness, look what you started! What amazing talent and generosity the knitting ladies have. Someone is going to be hauling suitcases full of knit goods to Isla!

Theresa
Wayne,
It was wonderful to meet you and bring you the goodies created by "my girls".
Hopefully I can return again before fall and bring you some more.
Thanks, everyone, for your kind comments....I will share them with the group...which, by the way, had so much fun that they are going to keep knitting and donating to various organizations of need. They meet on Thursday afternoons....see what Wayne started??
Regards,
Cheri Krull
