More Evidence

Need more evidence of how destructive the salt blowing in from the ocean is? Take a look at this.

These clothespins are just about two months old. Plus they are kept indoors in a plastic bag when not in use.

This is the screen on my front door. This is what it looks like when the wind blows from the south or southeast.

The vertical lines are salt. It collects in the screens and then runs down the door, leaving a pool of salt water on the floor.

Salt Air on Isla is equal to the dust in my house in Minnesota from living in the country!! I guess, not matter which place I live, I will be cleaning one or the other!

I'm always amazed at the corrosion on plumbing fixtures and hardware in relatively new rentals where we've stayed. I'm also amazed at one house we stay at where everything looks brand new after three years. They must do constant maintenance. Last trip, friends were talking about the life of a laptop on Isla. I'd never even thought about that being a problem.

Your Thanksgiving sentiments were delivered the way I've grown up to believe ... and Thanksgiving is a Life-Long learning experience.

I'm amazed to see what kinda damage a month or so of salt does .... should I not hang my original Degas facing the Carib???

Turns out we have close birthdays .... Best Wishes for a fellow Sag.... next time down, I'll but ya one.....

Trixie: I had forgotten about the dust. We lived on a dirt road on the farm and it, too, was a mess!

On Mex Time: me too!

American Mommy: thanks

Steve: I know from personal experience. Trust me, it ain't pretty!

LAB: I'm on my third laptop in 5 years!

O Robert: Don't hang anything you value facing the Carib! And Happy Birthday to you too!
