Red Light Woes

Home again! I had forgotten what true heat is but it hit me full on as soon as I stepped out of that Cancun terminal.

I was happily surprised both going to the USA and coming back at how courteous everybody was. Even the TSA people at Security in the airports were polite and helpful. Amazing. The only bad feeling I got was from the Northwest Airlines Flight Attendents. They don't greet you as you enter the plane anymore and act like everything they have to do is a chore. A great big pain in the ass to have to be in that airplane with all those people. Plus they are usually old and ugly nowadays. Maybe it is a second career for them and they are unhappy to have to be working. Who knows. They really, in my opinion, need to go back to customer service school.

Unfortunately, I got the red light in Cancun and was directed to a huge chrome table to have my luggage inspected. Now that guy was definately an asshole. He emptied everything out of my luggage, finding and unwrapping everything I had in them that I had wrapped up in clothing to keep it safe. Like various spices I can't find here. Plus he wanted to know what everything was. Like he had never seen a bottle of spices before or a bag of Pizza Crust Mix. The ass even took the yarn band off the new yarn I bought and unwrapped the skein to make sure nothing was inside. Now I have a pile of knots. Thankfully he did not find my secret pocket in my big backpack. Lisa will be glad for that!

So home again. Safe and sound. Definately going to have a Sol or two to celebrate!

Glad you're back in one piece.

Did they confiscate anything?

I hope you brought home a picture of yourself on that spinning wheel...

I bet they have your picture up in the lounge as a mal-content and trouble maker. Do you really think that red/green light is random?

Glad you are back safe and sound!

Welcome home! And yeah, it's been hot.

We've got cloud cover from Hanna though so between her and Ike we should have a cloudy week.

I'm glad you're home and safe and sound. I enjoyed your vacation. :D Did the luggage inspection guy take any of your stuff, or just leave the yarn in a mess?

It's good to be HOME. Glad you had a safe trip. I got the red light a few times. What a ##%%$$% I've found the women are more careful than the men. Can't wait to hear some of your trip stories.

Glad you are home and nothing was confiscated in Cancun.
I totally agree about the flight attendants these days. You would think if they smiled, they would crack their face!! Our favorites were on an Omni flight a few years back. Truly friendly, sense of humor and seemed to enjoy their jobs. Sure wish they still had flights to Cancun.

nancy: they didn't take anything. just made a mess and left me to repack everything. Alas, there was no spinning at all. All the wheels, I think there are 7, were in use with some project and you don't mess with somebody else's spinning!

tom/debi: I KNOW that the red/green light is NOT random. Once I had my finger about 1/4 inch away from actually pushing the button, never even touched it, and it turned red! I'll know soon if my name is on some kind of list. I have to switch my FM3 to an FM2 later this month. We'll see how that goes!

harvestmoon: cloudy here too.

sandye: he left everything in a mess but didn't keep anything.

kw: stay tuned for more stories!

islatrixie: i so agree. i think charter flights are just generally friendlier to begin with. I flew NW.
