I know. I know.

The answer is right there in your photograph.

they look like string beans, but they're seed pods!

Valium and/or Vicodin?? Please say yes. I will be planting Flamboyance post-haste, if so.

I haven't been able to read blogs all week, so I just read all your updates!! Hope you are doing better and have enjoyed your time of rest!!
Am I missing the pair of underware somewhere in the tree?

steve: right you are!

joanne: you win! yes, they are seedpods. Huge seedpods. In Cuba they cover them with paper mache and paint people on them. Clever.

heather: sorry to disappoint you. It's Demoral. LOL! Do you need a Rx in Playa for Valium? If so, come on up to the island. It's over the counter here. Well, you have to pay the pharmacist 300 pesos and he'll write you an Rx.

Trixie: LMAO! Thanks for the chuckle. No panties, bras or other unmentionables this time around!

Gringo - I've seen the pods used like marachas to add percussion to music. Next time you have a party, paint a bunch of them up and pass them out so guests can play with the band.

Also, I looked up this tree and it's also called a poinciana, like the song. I have a baby I'm hoping to plant somewhere.

If anyone has had any luck germinating/planting the seeds, please let me know. I would like to try to grow a few of these beautiful trees!
