Great pics, as usual ..... any idea what language that sign was?
kw: it was good! It is Aztec Soup from Amigos restaurant. Basically a Tortilla Soup but with a tomato base instead of beef stock.
robert: it is Hebrew. Wherever they go, Israeli tourists leave signs posted for other Israelis. They are trip guides and usually advise fellow travelers if a place is good or bad. (if I were a shopkeeper or restauranteur, I would remove them from my building since there is no way of knowing if what they say is good or bad!)

We were both on the same wave length with today’s blog post as I too posted a bunch of different photos from around the island.
Wayne, you don't know me, but I found your blog from reading Jonna's and then Heather's blogs. I "know" Jonna from a pond (think fish pond) forum we both belong to.
I have just finished reading your entire blog, and I have to tell you I have LOVED it. I feel a little lost now, like you feel when you finish a good book. :( Maybe I should start in on your travel blog. :)
I've wanted to comment several times in the last week or so, but I didn't know if you ever read old comments, or if the blogger software notified you when someone made a comment on an old post. Anyway, one thing I do want to say is that the turtles at the turtle farm with the red streaks on the side of their heads are Red-Eared Sliders. I raised two of them from birth until they escaped back into the wild at the age of six years (torrential rains overnight flooded their pond). They are considered a water turtle and live in ponds, lakes, rivers, etc.
Keep up the good work. I'm really enjoying your view of Mexico and your style of writing!

sandye: welcome to the blog! or at least to commenting! Thanks for the compliment. Because I use the verification thing, I get informed every time there is a new comment made. So you could have commented as you went along. Thanks for the info on the turtles. Please, go read the travel blog. It is a totally different style from this one. But start from the beginning!
