One Size Does Not Fit All

That's the title of an email I got recently from a reader. I love it when readers send me copies of their vacation photos from la Isla. Especially when it is exactly the type of photo I would have loved to have taken!

The following pictures were sent to me by a reader, complete with captions! I've added my own take on them in red. I just could not pass up this opportunity! Let's all be glad that she used some kind of blue filter to soften the reality of what you are about to see. I'm just glad she didn't get any front on views! Enjoy, if possible!

Here she is stylin' with her cowboy hat and 'tude to last for days

I hope that's the seaweed I'm smelling!

You know your suit is too small when the lining won't stay tucked in

Take your own picture. I can't even look at you!

Somebody get this woman a full-length mirror

Now where's that stick I use to slap some sense into you?

Okay, I could have gone my whole LIFE without seeing that!

Does this suit make my bum look big?

If you have vacation photos from your visit to la Isla that you want to share, send them along. Just make sure they are not pretty sunsets, cute little kids or swaying palms. I can take those myself. I want to see something different from your perspective.

Husband and I joke about starting a "mirror foundation", where you can donate money to buy full length mirrors for people who obviously don't own them. Or maybe offer free seminars on the proper use of mirrors?
Those types of photos are why I own a one piece bathing suit. I am not militant about other people's weight, I have enough problems dealing with my own, but no matter what you weigh or how out of shape you are, there are plenty of nice swimsuits you can buy.
regards,
Theresa

The beach is an interesting people watching venue. I think I will put these particular photos on my refrigerator to help my diet out!!

Hilarious! I saw plenty of those when I was there last week! It's like, do people really look in the mirror and say, "Hey...that looks good!" Anyway, now that I'm home, I can read your updates since I've been sending you uupdates on mine!

Better than the swim park?

I'm not of the opinion that only perfect bodies should wear bikinis, but that one is just not the right size for her, and makes her body look much worse than it is. Too bad, with the properly-fitting suit, she'd look much better! That one needs to go in the bin.

Send her to Baja California - the whale-watchers will be excited! ;-)

I agree with Theresa and Heather...it's not the body, it's the suit. She'd look much better if she wore a suit that fits. That one is like trying to stuff 20 pounds of sand in a 10-pound sack!

(Sorry about the cute kid photo, Wayne. ;-) At least I didn't send the sunsets and swaying palms.)

oso: thanks for the heads up. I appreciate it and it is a good thing to know. However, crime is a taboo subject on this blog.

to the rest of you: although this was (is) meant to be a snarky, funny post, when it comes right down to it I, too, could care less what a person looks like. However, they should keep in mind that there is appropriate and inappropriate behaviour and clothing. Knowing the difference may keep you off this blog!

I'm so embarASSed that you posted these pics of me! LOL!

I have body issues, like a lot of women, and I have learned to love the skin I'm in! I'll pour it into what ever I think looks acceptable- I guess I just have different rules for acceptable LOL and comfort!

If it ain't comfortable don't do it! That suit can't feel good- whether she thinks it looks good or not!

If the suit fits wear it! If it doesn't fit, as this one obviously does not, get one that does.

Do you think she'd let her workmates and friends see her like that. We all do things out of our own environment that we wouldn't do in it!

Heck, I can remember several jello shots too many, oh and my hairdo I've had since the 80's....
