A Final Word

I've been thinking about Andee a lot. How much I miss her. How much her friendship meant to me. I can't believe the level of grief I feel about her sudden passing. It is going to take me a good long time to get over it. If ever.

About posting to my blog. I can just hear Andee telling me to get over it and get on with things. Grieve but don't let it stop my living. So that is what I am going to do. Friday starts regular blog posts again. In the meantime, a final word.

TO MY FRIEND ANDEE: I KNOW YOU ARE NOW SITTING ON SOME BEACH IN HEAVEN, WATCHING SUNSETS AND SIPPING A COKE. SOMEDAY I HOPE TO SHARE ONE WITH YOU.

Wayne, I'm so sorry you lost your friend. I didn't know her, but I did read her blog often and now regret that I didn't "come out of my shell" and post a comment. It took me a long time to have the courage to post on your blog, too, but I'm sure glad I did and can't wait to meet you.

Rest in peace, Andee.

Wayne --

Thank you for this posting. I have been having the same trouble of getting my head past my grief. And I realized that Andee would be saying: Get over it. It's not about you. You have a life to live. Do it.

So, like you, I am going to follow her advice. I look forward to hearing more of your life on the gulf coast. And I will share what I finally decide to do on the Pacific side -- never forgetting that we all share the same path Andee has trod.

Heather: Thank you for your kind words. About commenting. You are a blogger and know how much we loooove hearing from our readers. Never be afraid to post a comment.

Steve: Hear, hear! I believe Andee would be saying blow your nose and get back to life! Enjoy it while you can. It's so trite, but true....gone but not forgotten.

Mimi and I have been without computer for a week, doing vet clinics in Xcalak and Mahahual, and I'm just now catching up. I'm so sorry to hear about Andee, I only read her blog a few times so I can't say I knew much about her but I can see what a special person she was from the reactions of others. My condolences to you and her friends and family.
