It's a Small World

We went downtown for drinks, dinner, drinks last night. We started at our favorite 2x1 place, Don Chepo. As we were leaving there, walking down the street minding our own business, a woman comes up to me and says "You're Wayne, aren't you!" I replied in the affirmative. Then she turns to B and says "Are you B or L?" Then I knew. It was a blog reader! Now I know what people are talking about when they say how strange it is to meet somebody who knows all about you.

Except Sandra from Toronto (and her husband, who kept asking her where the butter was!) were very nice. I enjoyed the few minutes we stood there chatting. A crazy feeling though. I guess I should tell you that she smuggled, er, that is, she had her husband carry through customs something like six pounds of Canadian butter! And one of them is for me!

Some people are just nice and I have always thought that my readers belonged in that category. I hope I see them again while they are here.

Hi,

I agree. It's an odd feeling when someone knows all these petty details of your life, and you barely can remember their name. But's it's nice too. Some of my favorite people in Mexico are people I have met through blogging. Or came to Chacala after reading my blogs. But's it's still weird when a total stranger knows about when I slipped on a tile floor and knocked myself out and got 27 stitches for my trouble. Or that I had a spell of craving semi-sweet chocolate.

Buenos Tardes Wayne,
We finally got the internet hooked up this morning. We might pop in and drop of your butter this afternoon. I don't want to bother you, but once you eat the butter, you'll know why I brought it for you. Also I have the maple syrup I promised you.....Thanks for adding me to your blog on Saturday....Hasta Luego, Sandra
