But also leads me to a question. What makes one prefer their cervesa in a glass/mug instead of straight from the bottle? I always prefer to leave it in the bottle as it stays colder longer, and I love my beer cold! We had dinner with a local Isla family last weekend and mom had her Sol in a mug while I had enjoyed mine in the bottle.
Just curious! :) Think I will stop on the way home from work today and get some Sol! Not the same as having it on the island, but not bad!
Enjoying all that, and staying out of trouble too, hmmm ? (Oh my, can you believe my comment enabling word is "trite?" Really, I'm not making this up.)
MD: first, that is a michelada, thus the mug. I think restaurants serve you beer in a mug because a)they think it is classier and b)because one tends to drink faster out of a glass or mug, thus ordering another drink and spending more money faster! If you like beer cold, stop by Snackbar El Tico (next to Bobo's Fish and Chips and across the street from Olivia's). He doesn't have Sol but his beer is so cold, I always order my next one when I am half through with the first one so it can warm up a bit. I'm not an Eskimo!
The caption says you posted the michelada photo at 6:05 am. Breakfast of Champions! I could probably drink beer at that hour, if only I could get someone to carry me to Ballyhoo.
I like to drink my beer out of a glass because it lets the beer gas-off, not so much fizz. Now if the place looks like it has bugs-straight out of the container.
