Not Much Going On

Not much to report. I guess my life is becoming a bit boring. Or I'm becoming a bit lazy. Or maybe both.

I had a house guest here for the wedding I wrote about. I don't have to tell any of you how time consuming that is. No matter how joyful the visit, it does disrupt the daily schedule. Still, nice to have a break from the same old, same old.

Then another friend, who is normally only here during the Christmas/NYE holiday, decided to come down for a summer visit. Another nice break and it was a joy to see her and spend time with her too.

There are a lot of other people visiting right now, or just left, that I know and that are blog readers. Despite the many invitations to hook up, I just never seemed to have the time or energy to do so. My loss.

That's the other thing. I don't know if it's my blood pressure meds or what, but I tire very easily these days. Just plain run out of energy. And not much interested in anything either. No, before you say it, I am not depressed. Just the blahs maybe.

On a good note, the window guy is supposed to be here tomorrow to install the new window. It will replace the one broken out during the recent burglary. And it will have bars with it! Maybe I can get a good night's sleep again. He is also installing more razor wire around the place.

We had an interesting phenomenon over the weekend. A huge migration or something of manta rays. There were hundreds of them and they were continuously jumping out of the water. It was a site to behold. The road along the beach was crowded with parked cars, motor scooters and golf carts and people stopped to stare. Nobody that I have spoken to can remember it ever happening before, nor a reason for it. Anybody know?

I really hope to get out and about this week and take some pictures. It is summer here now and the foliage and water is completely different than in the winter high season. I guess I would enjoy a trip around the island at a leisurely pace. Instead of always running here and there to get things done.

Maybe they are running from the oil spill.

I'd bet the hot & humid weather has something to do with how you are feeling...along with the meds. The manta ray sighting sounds like a site to behold!
Stay well!

Grab your camera and get your butt on the scooter. You live in Paradise, remember? (ha ha ha).

Seriously though, I think a relaxing trip around the island would be a great way to spend some time!

As for those manta rays... damn it! I wish I were there to witness that! Here are some pics and a story I read a few years back about their migration along the Yucatan:

I know what you mean, the same stuff here too and I have to really think of things to blog.
The hubby went through I don't know how many blood pressure meds to get the right one that didn't effect him so bad. Thanks for the lovely comment about my sister and I! I think I am the prettier one too ;)

The manta ray and sting ray phenomenon also occurs in Florida about this time of year.

I have been told that, quite basically, they are all looking for a date because they want to fornicate!

Interesting about the manta rays. And ... Wayne, I won't say you're depressed, but you have gone through a lot of grief lately. And that takes a toll.

I don't think it's you, we are having problems with feeling very tired too - must be the heat. And I agree with the idea of taking a trip around the island - we do that most evenings after going to the lottery - it's our nightly outing with Loco. This is the real reason we keep the golf cart going, it's our family activity. Look forward to seeing your pictures.

Wayne, if it's not depression, and not the oppressive humidity (which is what is getting to me!) how about your iron levels? Stress will deplete your B vitamins too. It could be something physical. Let's face it, traveling is tiring.
I hope you feel better soon!
regards,
Theresa

Sorry to hear you have the blahs. Do you check your bp regularly. After my surgery they had me on two different bp meds I was feeling a lot like you. He took me off the stronger of the two. My bp is now around 111/78 everytime I check. Yours may be getting too low. I am sure that heat and humidity have a lot to do with the way you feel too. Sounds like you need a Zama day.

I bet it's the heat! Hot here in Michigan (90's) and the extreme heat gets me down too. Feel better with a drive around the island taking pictures. Did you get one of the manta rays?

It was a COMPLETE extra bonus to get to spend so much time with you and I'm so sorry we didn't get the message for dinner the last night. I'm not sure I would do summer again - the heat and humidity really kicked my butt. But it's way too long from Xmas to Xmas not to be down there and not to see you guys. Will just have to stop being a baby and suck it up (the heat, that is lol). love you guys and see you December 19th or so.
