It Never Ends

It seems to be a never ending activity here on the island.

Fix a street. Tear that street up again. Fix it again.

Over and over.

Fixing Matamoras must be one of the last streets to be done? Guess you won't be at your table for awhile!

Here in Xico they have been putting all the power cables in the ground - we thought how great this would be (and I am sure a few years down the road it will be). However the streets have been torn up for many months with no end in sight. My lungs have been ravaged by dust riding through town on the scooter - it is plain awful.

In Melaque, I would be satisfied with the streets getting fixed the first time. But we are a poor municipality.

The first time I was in Isla Mujeres only the road to the airport was paved; all the streets were a nice white sand. That's progress....

Well, you don't have to look at that view all day! By the way, I'll trade you views .. mine for your wonderful water view!!

The point is that the streets are fixed, and then torn up again and re-fixed. Makes it hard on the businesses on those streets and inconvenient for the customers who want to get to those businesses. God forbid you need to drive through el centro.
