You Know You Have To Have One!

I bring you this post today with great joy. It's about my friend Kelly. Or should I say Talented Kelly? She lives in Arizona and occasionally here on Isla. Right down the street from me actually.

Kelly has an amazing talent and eye. She makes jewelry. Mostly southwest inspired pieces, but all truly inspired and inspiring. I was recently browsing her Etsy page and came across this beauty:

The chain is sterling silver, the calla lilly is Thai Hill Silver and it is loaded with citron, garnets, turmeline and some other semi-precious stone whose name escapes me now. Christmas and another friend who shall remain nameless immediately came to mind. (the name does not start with an L or a K!) I had to have it. I used the convenient PayPal button and Kelly graciously agreed to bring it down to me in time for Christmas. Which she did last week!

Each of her pieces has a clasp that is unique in its' own right. I love the one she used on this piece.

Talk about work! Look at this. Each one of this beads is handset onto the necklace chain. I would go blind trying to do that!

I stole a few pictures from her Etsy page, where she has these beauties up for sale. And, dare I say it, for waaaaay too cheap! Really, you can't not buy something.

If you click on over to her site, you will find these and many more exquisite pieces. And, of course, a description and story about each one. So go on. Christmas is coming. Make somebody you love happy and go visit Kelly here.

Reminds me of my friend Jake Wolfhart's work in Capitan, New Mexico. Lovely stuff. Did you see my snake skin bracelet I scored in a drunken stupor last July? Nothing like a STUFFED jewelry box!

I heartily endorse Kelly's jewelry. I bought a set for my wife in July and Kelly went out of her way to rush it to me in time for our anniversary!

Beautiful work. Thanks for sharing. The piece you bought is beautiful. I am a little bummed it is not for someone whose name begins with "L" though........just kidding.
