What Time Is It Anyway?

I'm not dealing well with the time set back this time around. Normally it doesn't bother me too much. But this time I feel like I have been discombobulatedized. Shut up. It is too a real word! But then, I often get asked what color the sky is in my world.

Take for instance bedtime. In the evening I usually read all my blog roll, while simultaneously watching TV and telling B to mute the darn thing when commercials come on. Then I move on to watching a few episodes of whatever TV program I have downloaded from the Net. But then I get hungry so I have to go scrounge around the kitchen and complain that there is nothing to eat. That conversation usually goes like this:

Me: Do you want something to eat?

B: No.

Me: I'm going to make some popcorn. Do you want any?

B: Maybe just a little.

I then make just a little extra and spend the next 20 minutes pulling his hand out of the bowl.

By then it is usually about 11:47 AM or so. I think to myself that I am getting to bed early tonight. After all, it's really 12:47 if you disregard that stupid clock set back thing. So off I trundle to bed. Only to toss and turn until 3:00 AM or longer, wondering why my stomach hurts.

I wake up around 7:15. Time to get out of bed because the sun is telling me that it is really 8:15 and I'm getting a late start. By this time the cats are fairly howling at the back door, wanting their breakfast. After all, to them I am an hour late filling their bowls. Or am I an hour early and they are just being pushy, knowing that I am up?

All I know for sure is that I am waking up at the wrong time, going to bed at the wrong time and getting hungry at the wrong time. Maybe by December I will have adjusted?

We're having a really hard time figuring out what time it is! My laptop is on Arizona time which is actually the same as Pacific Standard time since we don't do the daylight savings time and the time hasn't changed yet in the U.S. The clocks here need to be reset, and our watches are on God knows what time! Go figure!

Hi. I feel the same way this time. I am still waking up early and falling asleep early...but I can't sleep at night, something is off.

The cats were wondering if I'd lost my mind on Sunday. They kept asking for dinner....and I'd tell them it was early. They insisted they were starving.

I agree. For some reason this time change has seemed harder than usual. But I'll get it figured out by next March.

My preschooler doesn't like waking up in the dark, but my mommy radar indicates it just an excuse...When the clocks change this weekend, it will be rough, because kids don't operate by the clock....sigh...

Old time or new time? That is a question workers will be asking for the next month. Go figure! Like you're going to make an old time appointment. But hey, this is working for me this time. Set one timepiece a day. Ease into it!

LAB: aren't you on Mexican time this week? LOL!

Lin: I know what you mean. I am trying to get the cats to adjust but they are having as difficult a time as I am!

Billie: I wonder why it is so difficult for so many people this year. And it has nothing to do with age. Even my younger friends are complaining.

Mary: neither do retirees!

Isla: it would drive me crazy to only do one a day! I still look at the clock and think that it really is an hour later. Or should be anyway!

KfromM: I agree. One time. Who cares if you have an hour longer in the summer to get that lawn mowed!
