I'm not overly fond of seafood. I'll eat shrimp, some fish, and the occasional bite of lobster. That's about it. Although I do love chilpachole, a kind of spicy seafood soup made mostly with crab.
I've eaten other types of seafood. Conch, octopus, squid and even shark. (imagine that!) I don't really care for any of these and I am in no hurry to repeat the experience.
Needless to say, I do not linger in the seafood area of the big grocery stores. Stuff like this grosses me out so badly that I could not even take this picture. I had my friend Dougie take it for me.

Dougie - great foto!
Wayne - I have to disagree! The octopi in Dougie's foto look fresh and delicious!
If prepared properly, they are a true gourment delight.
Try it (again) - your taste buds may have changed from breathing all that salt air!
I remember how you ran-away at the sight of it!
jejejejeje

I'll eat most kinds of fish along with lobster, crab, and shrimp, but I'll skip the scallops and the rest of it! I got tricked into a baby shark taco by Joaquin (the moto rental guy). He told me it was chicken. That was one greasy nasty chicken. And those octupi look icky to me!
Could they really sell that much before it went bad?
Gross! But not as bad as the pig head that's usually at the public market.
I was secretly hoping when I read the title that you were doing another expose on fashion faux pas.
Looks like Davey Jones's beard to me. I am with you. Pass. But I will not eat fish. Or lobster.
Ewwww! I'm sure the vendor thought it was an artful display but the idea of eating octopus just gags me. Same with squid. If there was nothing else to eat, I'd have it in a taco, wrapped up in a tortilla so I don't have to see it.
I agree - that stuff is disgusting - I want nothing to do with it - regardless of the gourmet taste (or not).
It looks gross, but I agree with Media Mikey .. if prepared right .. damn it's good. Photo taken at Wal-mart?
I love most seafood. Shrimp and fresh fish… bring it on. Lobster is too rich for me and I cannot do anything that is chewy. No squid, octopus, clams, mussels, conch or oysters. Dougie’s photo is a good photo but I say EEEWWWW!!!
I agree with Merida Mikey. It is creepy to look at but if prepared properly...in any number of ways, it is very tasty! Chewy, yes....and really you have NEVER tried squid rings? YUMMMMMMMMMMM.
Seafood here is so fresh and excellent...tho' I must say I am particular to whole fresh fried boquinete (hogfish) or a delicious white conch ceviche.
I draw the line at SASHIMI. I will try ALMOST anything if it is cooked.even cooked in lime juice..but raw fish, YUCK! (Eat it in front of my and I tell my cousin's horror story about eating raw fish in northernmost Japan...your imagination couldn't even take you where I would go. But I won't. Ever. I promise.)
IM FROM THE COAST OF THE STATE OF GUERRERO. IT TASTE BETTER THAN IT LOOKS.....LOVE YOUR BLOG
