Welcome To The Party

Regular readers of this blog know that I am a frequent visitor to a place downtown called Adelita's Tequileria. Not only because it is a great bar but because our good friend, Paty, owns it. Although the actual anniversary of this bar was March 21, the celebration was delayed a week because the street in front was still torn up. But we sure had a celebration last Saturday night! (my condition upon finally reaching home had nothing to do with my breaking my toe!)

As you can see below, Adelita's was founded in 2001. That's eight years ago. We have been around to help celebrate the last six anniversaries.

Here's a candid shot of Paty. You've all seen her on these pages before. Most notably at her birthday party! The theme this year was black and white. Not too sure about her choice of shoes. Went I first walked up I thought she had bandages on her ankles. I'm sure she spent a pretty peso on them though. (that doesn't necessarily make them pretty though)

For the invited guests, cervesas, tequila and Margarita's were on the house all night. Here's my table, minus me of course. Somebody had to take the picture! B is off mixing and mingling with other guests.

See. I know how to work a theme! (and how to get a pretty woman to hug me!)

Paty's family, and also good friends to us, were on hand. This is her sister (left) and mother. There is a picture somewhere on this blog of a drunken me sitting on drunken sister's lap having my face shoved into her boobs. After she saw that picture she went on a diet and lost a lot of weight. She is looking pretty svelte now.

The view from the street looks really weird to me now. The first level of the bar was destroyed in order to make the street wider. So now guests get to sit directly on the street. Well, on chairs, but in the street.

Here you can plainly see that the third step is no longer there. Where the people are sitting in the white chairs used to be part of the bar. So be careful of that first step! It is at least 15" high.

I couldn't leave without at least one picture of Sister's daughter, Paty's niece, Jennifer, on the left. We went to her first Communion a few months ago. I can't believe what a beautiful young lady she is growing up to be.

I think a good time was had by all. I know that I had a good time and can't wait for next year's celebration! I wonder what the theme will be?

I remember going there at the blogger's meet up. They really just took that whole front of the bar and made it the street? Whew! That would be a drag.

I think we'll have to make another trip over soon, once it is summer and the crowds are smaller.

ps. the shoes are screaming!
