I've heard good things about GMail. I used it for awhile, but I have enough webmail accounts. If you have MS Office, both GMail and Hotmail can be managed with Outlook. This may also apply to Outlook Express if you don't have Office.
Did they decide this because you are so popular? Too much traffic - a catch 22.
