WE LEFT THE RAT RACE EIGHT YEARS AGO AND RETIRED TO THIS LITTLE ISLAND IN THE CARIBBEAN. THIS IS MY ACCOUNT OF THE TRIALS, TRIBULATIONS, AND LITTLE JOYS OF LIVING IN MEXICO.

Oh so true! One night driving back from Playa del Carmen (several yrs ago) the road was FILLED with HUGE crabs. And we crunched our way back to Cancun. I felt bad for the crabs, but you could not miss hitting them.
I would hate to come upon one of those in the dark! Happened to me during the day in Wyoming--the was bad enough!
Dorothy, we're not in Kansas anymore! Or maybe we ARE? LOL
I ran over a sleeping pig one night, in the road, on the route between Coba and Tulum. Sailed right over it at about 60 miles per hour. Pig was fine, the VW and the 5 souls inside were fine. I figure it was because of the flat underside of the VW and its upturned bumpers.
Oh yes, this happens ALL the time and I try to tell people and they just look at me like I don't know what I'm talking about........well, sometimes that's true! Ha.
Looks like several BIG reasons ;-)
KW - We've seen that too. It's hard to drive over them, with your eyes closed and a finger in each ear all the while yelling "la, la, la" so as not to hear the crunching!
Nice landscape. Where were the pictures taken??
Reminds me of all the deer and elk in South Dakota. There were times when I was VERY lucky in near misses. Yikes. You don't want to run into one of those guys...you'll lose.
