Standing on my upper deck the other day, I saw this tug boat a mile or so out, pulling two barges. I put my new telephoto lens on my camera and that's why this picture looks so strange.
When I zoomed in a bit, you get a better look at the tug boat.
And the barges being pulled. But what are they hauling on those barges?
Our best guess is sand. I thought it was some cargo heading for Cancun or some other place south but my neighbor says it just went back and forth in the same area all day.
So I'm thinking that as part of the beach reclamation project, they are once again dredging sand from the ocean floor. Will they never learn! Look how close they are to shore. They are just going to mess up the currents again, ruin fishing and lobster habitats and create even more havoc to the damage they did three years ago.
I'm hoping I'm wrong and that they weren't dredging. Time will tell.

I hope you're wrong, but have an inkling you're right. It reminds me of that old saying -- don't ##it where you eat.
Could be hauling Cubans ..... or groups looking for cheaper rates than Carnival .... or maybe even a HUGE cut-rate fishing party...
O Robert
But where is the dreaded dredge?
My "word verification" on this postr is "disea." Is that the beginning of a disease -- or just a mild case?
Wow that's a great telephoto lens!
I think you must be right Wayne. Why else would they be going back and forth all day? It's kind of strange unless they really are doing "something" (ie messing shit up).
