What The Dog Said

C'mon Dad. Find a stick. Find a stick!

You keep looking there. I'm gonna go over here and look. Yeah, yeah!

Do ya think there's one in the water? Huh? Do ya? Do ya?

I see one! I'll get it. Don't worry, I'll be right back and you can throw it 1000 times more!

If I ever get a dog again, I want it to be just like this one. This guy throws a stick for him every afternoon. They seem to have a very loving relationship.

So touching! What I love the most are not the pics, it's what the dog is saying to his Dad..!

Dog is a man's (and woman's) best friend! Gotta love em! By the way, I'm on vacation next and will really be missing your blog, but will catch up when I return.

That's great! Our lab is just like that--his latest is a frisbee, though. He sits outside with it in his mouth waiting for Alan to come home from work.

That's nice to see. You don't always see animals treated like best friends en Mexico.

I don't know if this is the same man/dog, but about a month ago we watched a man out swimming near Villa La Bella, and his dog was swimming out to him. When the dog got in deeper water, the man held him in his arms. The two of them played and had a great time. We did a short detour through the colonia on our way south on that road, and when we got to Col Guadelupana, that same man and dog were there again - wet from their swim. I'm not sure but it looked like that's where they lived, and yes, it was so nice to see that bond between man and dog, something we don't often see with this different culture.

How sweet. Funny, I've been planning to rescue a dog from a shelter for months, but I have a lot of advance work to do - fences fixed, etc. This will get me off my duff! I need a pooch to keep me company!

julie: well, that's how my dog used to talk to me!

kw: have a great vacation!

jamqueen: I had a Lab on my farm. She would wear my arm out throwing her Kong for her!

my way: exactly the reason this guy so impresses me.

sue: this guy used to be out front everyday at 4PM. He even had that dog swimming around before one of the recent storms. The dog got swept out so the guy ran along the shore and the dog followed him. Pretty smart. He got him to swim against the riptide so he could get back to shore. (although I think he should never have let the dog in the water in the first place!) This was the first time I have seen him back here since that scare.

Loretta: dogs are nice but they won't replace a man.

It's hard to replace a good dog!
