She Was Serious

I get emails all the time from people I don't know. Mostly wanting further information about Isla or having something to say that should have been said in Comments.

A few weeks ago I got a nice little email from somebody who said that they were finished packing for their vacation on Isla and LO! they had a little room to spare in the suitcase. Could they bring down some yarn to donate to Project Warm Hands. I responded to that one immediately, let me tell you!

Readers, meet two of your fellow readers: Brandon and Trish Herrera.

Notice what Trish is holding in her hand. It's a bag full of brand new Red Heart yarn! Count 'em. Nine new skeins to be made up into deliciously colored little hats for the kids of Veracruz. Heck, there is enough there to use for next year's project too! I told her to think color and she sure did.

Just when I think I am destined to spend the rest of my life dealing with assholes, somebody like this comes along and restores my faith in the human race. No doubt about it, I HAVE THE BEST READERS EVER!!!!!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Brandon and Trish. You brought a tear to my eye....and on my birthday too!

How very thoughtful. I can’t wait to see a photo of the little hats that you are going to make with all that colorful yarn.

Connections. They never cease to amaze me. And not the kind you buy on K Street. Just regular folk, meeting, connecting, helping.

Happy Birthday Wayne! I totally would have given you a lap dance and brought yarn for you to make it an even better day! But it will have to wait until I visit.

Smooches.

You are most welcome! It was and will always be a special spot in our trip. I am sorry that I did not have time to sit and chat... our inlaws had held off thier breakfast to catch the ferry from Cancun and see Isla thru our eyes. Please save me a coffee date when we get back down. Not sure when it will be but- hopefully soon! Thank you for sharing our world and your talent with so many! God Bless You!
