Looks Like It Might Be Real

These past few weeks I have been seeing a lot of survey work going on on Avenue Hidalgo. At least three different crews out with their camera like thingees mounted on tripods while an assistant down the street holds a stick with numbers and stuff on it. (don't you love it when I get all techinical on you!)

Could it really be true that the redo of Avenue Hidalgo will be starting soon? Time will tell. I'll keep y'all advised.

Just in time for the holidays and possibly busy season!

I predict just in time for the annual pavo. :) I know maybe this has been answered before, but do you know if they're using pavers or asphalt? I'm hoping not that awful fake stamped paving process?

kw: that's been the major complaint about this redo since it was scheduled.

beck: I have not heard but my guess is going to be that stamped concrete look. They did that on the new town square and the new malecon. No reason to suspect that they would stop now.

For your edification: The camera thingy on a tripod is called a Theodolite. Lesson for the day. There will be a test later.

Well maybe this will make us get off Hidalgo and explore some of the places on the Island.

I just hope they are done by Christmas. I know that there are really good restaurants off Hidalgo but does this has to happen following s real slow slow season? The poor business owners, first the liquor license mess now this. I know that the outcome should be an improvement so I will wait and see.

Daniel: See?: I don't need to know that stuff. My readers will correct me or tell me the right answer. Thanks!

couzin frank: yes, there are a few nice restaurants off Hidalgo. Quite a few in fact but tourists will only find the ones on Hidalgo or Ruena Medina. Have you tried Vinales in front of VistalMar? Try the chicken Vinales. Yum!

jackie: it isn't even a low season here right now. It is below that. I have never seen the island so deserted. I like it like this but I know all of my friends are suffering big time.
