How could I have forgotten to mention that we just had an anniversary here. On September 18th, it was five years since we moved to this island.
Our house was not ready to move into (although it had been promised to be empty), the people living in the cabana refused to move out, even though it was stated in the contract that they would and we found ourselves having to live in a hotel downtown for a few weeks. I vividly recall lying in bed those first few days wondering what we had done. We totally gave up our life in Minnesota and moved here, lock, stock and barrel. Those first few weeks were scary, full of doubts about our decision and our first real introduction into the "manana" attitude of getting anything done.
Needless to say, we have come a long way since then!

Congratulations! Isn't it funny how time makes those major aggravations just turn into funny stories?
Wayne -- Good show! And, of course, after 5 years there are never any residual doubts. Right, buddy?
Congratulations! I know some days you wonder why you did it, but hopefully the good far outweighs the bad....

Happy anniversary! It goes by fast, even though it seems like forever!
What has changed the most about you as a person?
thanks everybody!
Gosh, if only I had done the same thing 5 years ago when I was seriously considering taking an early retirement and moving to Isla. Those were the days when I could have gotten a good deal on a house. Anyway, congrats on the anniversary and sticking it out for 5 years. Hope to hear that you have many more to come.
Happy belated Anniversary!! (better late than never) May you have many many more!
