View Across The Bay

I never tire of the view from just above Garrafon Reef Park across the bay. Especially on bright, clear days. That's the hotel zone of Cancun across the bay.

Zoomed in. I remember after Hurricane Wilma we could look across and see sky through the holes in some of these same hotels.

Lest you think it is all sunshine and smiles here, this is the exact same location yesterday afternoon. And I even had to get wet to get these shots for you. What I don't do!

Thanks for the great pics. The view is amazing and the water so calming. My girlfriend got stuck in the middle of the zip line. The rest of us laughed as she was yelling at us.
The Cactus pics are spectacular too.

I do so love that view. Isn't it amazing that even on the crappiest days the water still looks so increbily blue?

thanks for getting wet for us!

I have several photos taken across the bay there. I think that the colors of the waters around Isla are amazing. They change depending on the sky, the wind and the currents. I never get tired of looking at those views.
Blogging on Isla is a tough job. Sorry you had to get wet to get those last photos. ;>)

Thanks for the amazing views...poetry for the eyes. Sometimes it can be tough living in oh-so-dry, land locked Estado GTO.

Yikes, looks like you had a monsoon yesterday..does it cool things off when you have rain like that? Hope it gets here - although we have had rain a couple days this week, thankfully!

kw: so that's who that was! I have a video of it somewhere on the blog!

cc and Jackie: I debated about getting out of the car. Then I decided I love you and went ahead and got out.

deb hall: what a lovely phrase....poetry for the eyes. Wish I had thought of that!

steve: you just crack me up sometimes! I'll get busy on that list.

babs: you'd think so but it just makes it hotter. The humidity rises to about 125% and nothing will dry out. We're getting a peek or two of the sun today but the air is so thick it is almost hard to breathe it in.

When we use to go to Cancun regularly back in the 80's there were only three for four hotels, Fiesta Americana,El Presidente and ??? maybe the Sheridan. From the airport to Dos Playas where we stayed with friends in their condo there was nothing but this amazing, amazing view of the water. It was so beautiful tears would come to my eyes. I can remember days of laying on the bluff at Dos Playas and looking toward Isla across the amazing turquoise color changes of the water. On a very clear day you could just make out the light-house at the end of isla. The water is still gorgeous....unfortunately the view from the airport road has changed. In spite of all the aggravations on isla, you are still a lucky man to see this water everyday.

billie: in reality there is not a day that goes by that I don't say thanks for the opportunity given me to live here. I know just how lucky I am. (but don't tell anybody I said that!)

We've had rain again here in Minnesota and down in Iowa, something Iowa does not need any more of right now.
I would rather be taking in your view in the rain!!

Hey, Wayne. Are you going to the Mini-soda state fair while you are up there in August? Say hello to Princess Kay of the Milky Way for me.
